WE ARE BACK FOR ONE FINAL YEAR!.

Come join us for a marathon or half marathon runs along some beautiful paved trails as well as a few dirt tails at Cook Park in Tigard, Oregon. This race will be the first of three races in the Firecracker Triple over the 4th of July weekend.

Sunday, July 3, 2022 - Summerlake Loopy Marathon/Half/7hr - Summerlake Park, Tigard, OR
Monday, July 4, 2022 - Foot Traffic Flat Marathon/Half - Sauvie Island, Portland, OR


NEW THIS YEAR, there are three race options. A half marathon, marathon and 7 hour ultra marathon.

- The Half marathon is a three loop course. All half marathoners will start at 7am (no early start) and will need to be completed by 2pm. All finishers will receive a finishers medal. The first male and female finisher will receive a first place award.

- The Marathon is a six loop course. The marathon starts at 7am giving you a seven hour time limit. However if you need more than five hours, a 6am early start is available (allowing you eight hours). All finishers will receive a finihsers medal. The first male and female finisher will receive a first place award.

- The 7 Hour Ultra Marathon option will also be available for those seeking to run more than a marathon. The ultra marathon option will start at 7am (no early start) and will be completed at 2pm. Only completed loops will count. The loop is 4.37 miles, an ultra is accomplished when you complete seven (30.57 mi) or more loops. For runners completing an ultra distance, you will receive a marathon medal and a special ultra medal. The male and female that complete the most loops in the seven hours will receive a first place award.

START TIMES: All races: 7:00am*

* an early start at 6:00am is available for anyone taking longer than 5 hours. The course closes at 2:00pm (7:00 time limit, 8:00 with early start). All runners taking the early start will be given a minimum time of 5:00, even if you finish in less than 5:00. Early start only available for full marathon runners. If you need more than 8 hours to complete the marathon, please contact me and we can arrange something.

Each runner will recieve a finisher's medal. The race will be capped at 100 runners. At least 25 spots are reserved for the marathon, at least 25 spots are reserved for the half marathon. Tech shirts are available for purchase for $15 until June 14th.

PACKET PICKUP

Packet pickup will be available on race morning Friday, July 3 starting at 6am. Packet Pickup will close 10 minutes before the start of each race. For the early start, packet pickup will open at 5:30am.

COURSE

The start/finish line will be located next at the picinic shelter near the main gate to the park. For both the marathon and the half marathon runners will run a 4.37 mile loop repeatedly. For the marathons will run the loop 6 times for the half marathon runners will run the loop 3 times. The loop will be well marked, but runners should be aware of the course. PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a closed course and you will be required to yield to others on the trail and we ask that you not run more then two abreast. This is NOT a Boston Qulifying course and is designed to be a fun run and safety is our number one prioirty, so please be careful and cautious.



AID STATIONS

At the start/finish area there will be a fully stocked aid station. We will have water and Gatorade as well as possibly chips, cookies, gummy bears, jelly beans, pretzels among other things.

TIMING

This race will be chip timed by Huber Timing. This means you will not have to worry about lap counting. Jeff Huber will do that for you!

AWARDS

All finishers will recieve a finisher's medal. There will also be additional awards to the top male and female finishers in the marathon and half marathon.

NEW THIS YEAR: A 7 hour timed race option will be available for those wanting to run an ultra. Anyone running an ultra (7 or more loops) will recieve a special ultra medal in addition to the marathon medal. The top male and female runners with the most miles in 7 hours will get a first place award.

DIRECTIONS

Parking will be available at Cook Park. If coming from Portland get onto I-5 South, take exit 291 (Carman Dr/King City), turn right onto SW Upper Boones Ferry Road. After 0.2 miles turn right to stay on SW Upper Boones Ferry Rd then take the 3rd right onto SW Durham Road. Then turn left onto SW 92nd Ave. Click Here for directions.
